“Be a local, everywhere you go” – that was our slogan when we first launched GetYourGuide in June 2008 and the way we wanted to fulfill on this promise was by providing a platform where travelers from around the world could book a local tour guide – who could either be a professional or just you and me – in any destination around the world.
Along the way we realized that it made more sense to only let professionals offer their services while extending the range of possible services from mere sightseeing to anything fun and bookable. So now you can find activities from bus sightseeing in London and sightjogging inBerlin to shark-diving in Capetown or the famous 007 Golden Eye bungee jump in Ticino, Switzerland.
And it’s also for these reasons that we decided to join the local travel movement. Traveling is about experiencing the extraordinary, and because it’s locals who know best how to provide the most unique experiences at any given destination, we wanted to connect travelers with local professionals who could provide for authentic experiences that travelers wouldn’t be able to experience on their won. So having grown up in the eBay generation, we decided right from the start that we wanted to create a transparent marketplace for local suppliers of tours & activities where we would tell our customers which local companies stood behind the various products on GetYourGuide.
Its nice to be joined to your group. Please recomend me the sightseeing in London is worth to see in July and how to save on excursion.
Hi Tala,
I think the best way to save money on excursions is by comparing and booking online since even some of the local operators give you discounts on their own website if you book online.
And as much as I like things like adventure travel, those hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses in London do make sense since you can from one major spot to another quite conveniently. Also check out the “Insider London” tours if you’re looking for more unique things to see. For instance, they have a nice Insider shopping tour. Ultimately, the different operators in London all offer very nice products and I think you’ll hardly go wrong with either of them.
Cheers,
Tao
Hi Tala,
We operate personal guided tours in London and have just partnered with the Local Travel Moment. Our tours are priced below the cost of a sightseeing bus and far more personal, very important in a big city like London. Feel free to get in touch if you need further help.
Cheers,
Charlie
