1. Like Slow Food, Slow Travel (aka Local Travel) was created by the curious and passionate, for the curious and passionate.
2. Because a vacation with a ‘local contact experience’ will not just help you compete with the Joneses, but will help you surpass them by virtue of your more exciting travel stories.
3. Because this is not a passing trend. All towns, big and small have: a)Locals, b) Locals that are here to stay and therefore vested in their community, c) Locals, at least the ones worth meeting, with opinions they want to share.
4. Because you are lying if you say you wouldn’t die to see inside a real Parisian’s home, steal more than a glimpse of an Italian’s interior courtyard, learn how a Canadian can almost always barbecue a steak just right…
5. Because breaking down prejudices will make us travel further…
